ISLAMABAD, July 9 (APP): Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal
Sohail Aman on Saturday expressed heartfelt grief on the sad demise  of iconic social worker Abdul Sattar Edhi.

The Air Chief, in a message, paid rich tribute to the world
acclaimed humanitarian and said any chronicles on social work would  remain incomplete without the mention of this legendary hero.

Remembering his contributions towards service of the underprivileged class, the Air Chief said that Abdul Sattar Edhi was the pride of  humanity, whose contributions and influence transcends borders  and nationalities.

He said Mr Edhi was indeed a pioneer in the field of social service and the models of excellence set by him are replicated world  over.

“While heading one of the largest private social service in the
world, Mr Edhi lived a very humble life with negligible possession and  wore his greatness lightly.”

Eulogizing the unforgettable contributions of Abdul Sattar Edhi,  the Air Chief said, “He was the proud face of our national character,  who has left us a mission; to embrace the love of humanity and work for  the well-being of the destitute and downtrodden. May Allah shower his countless blessings on the departed soul and give solace to his family
to bear this loss. Aameen! “
