PESHAWAR, Mar 12 (APP):People from all walks of life including politicians, academicians and economists here on Tuesday eulogized Prime Minister Imran Khan for launching State Bank of Pakistan (SBP)’s finance policy for construction of five million low-cost housing units in the country.
Member National Assembly (MNA), Nasir Khan Musazai said the SBP’s finance policy launched by Prime Minister Imran Khan was a momentous step forward towards completion of PTI government flagship project of constructing five million houses for homeless, poor and needy people of the country.
He said this mega project would help generate employment opportunities for hundreds of thousands of labourers and workforce besides boosting 40 allied industries directly or indirectly associated with construction industry, would alleviate poverty especially in rural areas.
The PTI leader said mega finance scheme would immensely help all those poor and marginalized people who can’t afford to construct a house for their families.
He said the construction of low cost houses was part of PTI government’s manifesto and poor people would not pay their hard earned money as rent for hiring a house any more.
The PTI government was striving hard for a welfare-state where all basic amenities of life were available for poor and low income groups, he said adding that whether it was Billion Trees Afforestation Project or Metro Bus in Peshawar, all these pro-poor projects was aimed at to provide direct relief to people.
Senior economist, Sumbul Raiz has also welcomed SBP finance policy for construction of low-cost houses, saying that currently the country has shortage of about 10 million houses and the bank finance scheme was imperative to achieve the target of construction of five million houses in next five years and expressed the hope that it would immensely help address all those people who could not construct their houses due to financial problems.
Nazim Bahadar Khan, teacher Pir Mohmmad Khan, tribal elder Asghar Khan and others highly appreciated launching of SBP’s finance facility and termed it a big step towards completion of PTI’s flagship project.
They said that PTI government has all the abilities to steer the country out of existing challenges.
