ISLAMABAD, Dec 31 (APP):CEO Jazz, Aamir Ibrahim, has said that Jazz is set to officially begin the transition to the Digital ServiceCo model on January 1, 2025, reinforcing the company’s leadership across consumer connectivity, financial services, enterprise solutions, entertainment, infrastructure, and AI-driven solutions.
Reflecting on the company’s over 30-year legacy of empowering lives through technology, Aamir highlighted the opportunities ahead and the responsibility to lead with “conviction, collaboration, and purpose.”
He said the trust of stakeholders, particularly customers and communities, remains the cornerstone of Jazz’s journey, adding, “Let’s honor that trust by using the power of digital technologies to create a future where we improve lives, empower livelihoods, and make a lasting impact” said a news release.
In his year-end note, Aamir Ibrahim highlighted Jazz’s achievements in 2024, which laid a strong foundation for the company’s transformation.
“This year, as we celebrated our 30th anniversary, we also laid the foundation for our boldest transformation yet-evolving into a Digital ServiceCo by creating customer-centric strategic business units (SBUS),” Aamir stated. He said this transition redefines “who we are, we are no longer just a telecom company.”
Jazz empowered women entrepreneurs through partnerships with UNDP and UN Women, advancing financial tools and digital literacy in underserved communities, Aamir said. He added that women-centric features were embedded into Jazz’s products and services to enhance accessibility and inclusivity. Jazz was also recognized as the ‘Most Inclusive Organization in Pakistan’ at the recent GDEIB Awards.
Aamir said that Jazz’s efforts to expand broadband connectivity saw its 4G user base surpassing 50 million, contributing to bridging the digital divide and access to the digital economy. Jazz’s youth engagement brand, ROX, achieved a remarkable milestone by acquiring one million customers in just ten months, he noted.
Highlighting contributions to the financial services sector, Aamir said that JazzCash now serves 45 million customers, processing 8 million daily transactions and digitizing PKR 100 billion monthly. “Meanwhile, FikrFree, an AI-powered insurance platform, is set to transform Pakistan’s underpenetrated insurance sector.”
In the entertainment domain, Aamir said Jazz’s Tamasha platform expanded its reach globally, streaming Pakistan’s cricket matches to audiences in Sub-Saharan Africa and India. “Jazz is fulfilling customer needs across 1440 minutes of the day.” He said that Tamasha now serves over 17 million customers.
Furthermore, Aamir said SIMOSA reached 20 million users, including 200,000 non-Jazz customers, while GameNow engaged 5 million monthly active users, further diversifying Jazz’s digital offerings.
Aamir Ibrahim said that Jazz’s enterprise solutions made significant strides, with IoT, cloud, and cybersecurity services supporting over 300 clients. Ninety-five of the top 100 companies listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange rely on Jazz’s enterprise services, including the Garaj platform, which offers cloud and disaster recovery solutions tailored for businesses, he said.
This year, Aamir said, in collaboration with NUST, Jazz launched Pakistan’s first Local Large Language Model (LLM) initiative to promote inclusivity and digital advancement. “With groundwork underway, we are pioneering AI solutions that promote inclusivity and digital advancement.”
Looking ahead, Aamir said, Jazz is positioning itself beyond traditional telecom services to anticipate and address evolving customer needs. He said that the recent inauguration of Jazz World HQ symbolizes the company’s approach to the modern-day workplace while staying true to its traditional values of innovation and collaboration.
As Jazz prepares for 2025 and beyond, Aamir invited stakeholders to join the company in embracing a bold future, emphasizing Jazz’s pioneering spirit and shared purpose.
