PTF to introduce ‘Lobbing Love’ Tennis 10 series

ISLAMABAD, Oct 27 (APP): Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) has decided to introduce ‘Lobbing Love – PTF Tennis 10 series National Ranking tournaments in the country’s tennis circuit with an aim to take the game to younger age groups of 6 plus years.
The decision was taken in a meeting of top PTF officials here at Syed
Dilawar Abbas PTF Tennis Complex on Thursday.
The meeting, chaired by Salim Saifullah Khan, president PTF was
attended by Khawar Hyat Khan, senior vice president PTF, Muhammad Khalid Rehmani, secretary PTF, Shahzad Akhtar Alvi, office Secretary and Col ® Gul Rehman, director security.
The events would be played 10 and under on full courts, 8 and under and 6 and under on mini-courts.
Modified soft balls will be used for all three events. International
Tennis promoter and initiator of ‘Lobbing Love’ in the USA will sponsor the year-long Tennis 10 circuit.
The coaching to young players (6 to 14 years of age) under PTF – JTI
program will also be sponsored by Lobbing Love.
It was further decided in the meeting that Junior Tennis Initiative
(JTI) coordinators would be appointed in Karachi and Lahore to expand the programme activities there.
It was also decided that the PTF would organize Yellow Badge National
Umpiring course in the coming months to train and groom young umpires for future national and international assignments.
It is pertinent to mention that the PTF is holding 10 ITF and ATF events in the country this year.
It is mandatory to have ITF-qualified referees and umpires in these
events.
The PTF has already organized two ATF 14 and under super series events this March in Islamabad, wherein three foreign players also featured.
Besides these two events, four ITF seniors and four ATT events are
scheduled to be held in Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi during remaining months of the calendar year 2016.
