Electoral reforms to be finalised before 2018 election: Dar

ISLAMABAD, Jan 13 (APP): Chairman Parliamentary Electoral Reforms Committee Senator Ishaq Dar said on Wednesday that the recommendations on electoral reforms would be finalized before the general election 2018.
Talking to media persons after the meeting of committee, he hoped that next general election would be conducted through electronic voting and biometric system.
Expressing satisfaction on working of the committee, he said enough work had already been done on the reforms.
The committee also agreed over various constitutional amendments. Ishaq Dar said that Sub-Committee of Electoral Reforms had prepared unified election rules and suggesting measures to strengthen the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
He said that objective of reforms was to bring meaningful and authentic changes in electoral process of the country.He said a sub committee had been constituted under the
supervision of MNA Dr Arif Alvi to address the issues of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Dar said Electoral Reforms Committee had already held 14 meetings, while the sub committee had met 46 times in a year.
