ISLAMABAD, Jul 24 (APP): A Spokesperson of Ministry of Finance Sunday contradicted a news item appeared in a section of press stating that the present government had waived off bank loans during last three years.

He said the statistics of State Bank of Pakistan were
presented during Senate session of Friday regarding the bank loans waived off by the commercial banks during the last thirty years, said a press release issued here.

The Spokesperson said no report was tabled before
the Senate, mentioning any loan waived off by the present
government.

He said the government had nothing to do with waiving off the bank loans rather it was a routine activity of the commercial banks which they performed in accordance with the State Bank rules.

The commercial banks provide these details regularly in their
accounts and also inform the CIB Wing of the State Bank.
