ISLAMABAD, Jan 10 (APP):Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations/Investigation Muhammad Arsalan Shahzaib chaired a crucial crime control meeting on Friday at his office, where zonal SPs and investigation officers reviewed their performance.
An official told APP that during the meeting Shahzaib emphasized the primary duty of the police to serve citizens and called for stricter measures to prevent robberies, dacoities, and thefts, ensuring the effective arrest of absconders and criminals.
SSP further instructed officers to expedite investigations and improve the quality of patrols and operations.
Shahzaib emphasized the importance of ensuring the arrest of absconders, proclaimed offenders, and court absconders. Patrolling should be made more targeted and effective.
SSP said that separate meetings would be held for each zone to improve performance. He instructed officers to ensure the prevention of vehicle and motorcycle theft and the arrest of those involved in these crimes.
Shahzaib emphasized the urgent need to apprehend the accused involved in dacoity and other criminal cases. In addition, SSP directed officers to identify criminal elements and implement measures to prevent them.
Effective actions should be taken against those involved in immoral activities, and they must be arrested. All officers were directed to apprehend professional beggars and their facilitators and to register cases against them.
Investigations of pending cases should be expedited, and challans should be submitted to the relevant courts on a priority basis.
SSP Shahzaib also stressed that the quality of investigations should be improved. Patrols by the Dolphin Squad and police stations should be made more effective and purposeful.
Serving the citizens is the primary duty of the police, and any negligence in this regard will not be tolerated. Those who disrupt the peace of the city and deprive citizens of their valuable assets should be placed in custody or jail, he added.
