ISLAMABAD, Oct 8 (APP): A two day Kalash language, artisans at work exhibition and seminar was concluded here at Lok Virsa Heritage Museum Hall on Saturday.
Around 25 people from Kalasha community participated in the two day event and presented their culture, lifestyle and language.
The event was arranged by Ayun and Valleys Development
Programme (AVDP) a local support organization of Kalash Valley in collaboration with Lok Virsa.
One of the important part of the event was Kalasha language such as folk songs, tales and first ever, Kalasha Proverbs were part of the discussion. Kalasha script and orthography were also touched slightly.
An official of Lok Virsa told APP that the exhibition and
seminar was arranged with an objective to create ownership among children regarding Pakistan’s languages and cultural heritage, provide them an orientation about regional languages and indigenous folk cultures and re affirm our identity of being a multi cultural and pluralistic country,”
The purposes of AVDP is to improve the quality of life of the
rural populace of UC Ayun.
