Sheikh Aftab urges political parties to shun politics of allegations

ISLAMABAD, Nov 3 (APP): Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Aftab Ahmed Tuesday urged all the political parties to shun politics of allegations and work with unity for the betterment of masses.

Talking to APP outside the Parliament House, the minister said unfortunately it had became a tradition that losers allege of rigging and criticize national institutions.

“No body could cast his vote without national identity card and polling agents of all the candidates were present on the polling stations. Then how it was possible to rig the polls,” Sheikh Aftab questioned.

The minister said there may have been shortcomings in the local body elections, but legislation is underway to overcome anamolies.

Sheikh Aftab said people of Punjab have favored PML-N backed candidates in majority that speakes of the party performance.

He hoped to win more seats in coming phases of the LG polls on the basis of performance and welfare activities for the masses under leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
