ISLAMABAD, Sep 9 (APP): Appreciating President’s address to the joint sitting of the Parliament, Senators on Friday termed it a balanced one in which he set out his vision and
future direction for the government.

They said the operation Zarb-e-Azb did achieve success and ensure peace and tranquillity across the country.

The members said that the President had set direction for the country during his address to both Houses of the Parliament which met on 1st June this year, adding implementation of those points highlighted in the President’s speech could improve the living standard of public and would help face challenges successfuly.

They said the restoration of peace in the country would help in economic development of the country.

Senator Tahir Hussain Mashhadi said the President had given his vision in his address and set future direction for the government, adding the operation Zarb e Azb was moving
forward successfully and restoring peace.

He said there was a need to take further steps to overcome energy crisis that was necessary for economic revival.

Javed Abbasi said the Presidential address was comprehensive and balanced, higlighting the national and international challenges, being faced by country.

He said operation Zarb e Azb was unerway successfully and the terror incidents had witnessed decrease, adding the sacrifices of security forces and Pakistani people would
not go in vain.

Senator Lt. Gen ® Abdul Qayyum said the President had covered all subjects in his address to both Houses. The President had also mentioned the government’s steps to
reinvigorate the national economy, he added.

He said “ We need national unity to face the security related challenges in light of the suggestions, given by the President in his address.”

He underlined the importance to introduce reforms in judicial system besides bring about reforms in FATA.

He was of the opinion the process of repatriation of Afghan immigrants should be accelerated.

Senator Noman Wazir said the whole region would benefit from China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

He said the Presidential address had provided outlines for the government to move ahead and further improve economic indicators.

Ghous Muhammad Niazi said the country’s economy was moving in the right direction, adding the current government had inherited a number of problems from previous government.

He said tax net had been widnened besides improving the performance of tax machinery, adding CPEC project would be proved as game changer for the region.

Senator Usman Khan Kakar said the President was a symbol of Federation who provided guidelines for the government on various issues.

All positive and negative aspects of the performance of the government should have been part of the Presidential address, he said.

Muhammad Ali Saif said the nation knew about the politicians who were sincere with the country.

Meanwhile, the House also adopted a motion authorizing the
Chairman to make nominations for the Public Accounts Committee in consultation with Leader of the House and Leader of the Opposition.

The motion was moved by Leader of the House Raja Muhammad Zafarul Haq.
