ISLAMABAD, May 27 (APP): Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms, Ahsan Iqbal Friday said the government was striving hard to complete mega- projects by 2017.
Chairing a meeting of Annual Planning Coordination Committee (APCC) here, he said, the development budget would be given on priority basis.
Ahsan Iqbal said, the Planning Commission saved Rs. 570 billion through better scrutiny of projects during the last three years.
He said, the development budget would have to be enhanced to make the country of 200 million people a ‘knowledge economy.’
The Minister opined that there was a need to enhance volume of development budget.
He hoped that the development budget would exceed to the defence and payment of loans in next few years.
