FAISALABAD, Mar 20 (APP)::Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar on Wednesday said that infrastructure development, clean drinking water, health and education projects were on top priority of the PTI government.
Taking to the media after inaugurating an underpass project of Kashmir Bridge here at Canal Road, he said the government had approved Punjab Aab-e-Pak Project to provide potable water to people during the next 4 years across the province.
He said that most of the diseases were water borne and 40 percent people fell ill due to non-availability of clean drinking water.
He cited a report of Sarwar Foundation and said that 20 to 30 percent people were suffering from hepatitis in Faisalabad and 15 to 20 percent patients are diabetes.
Responding to a question, he said the government was providing health cards to ensure healthcare cover to the needy segments of the society.
He further said that public sector hospitals were being upgraded while free medicines were also being provided.
Regarding education, he said that a gradual improvement was being witnessed in this most important sector. During his governorship, he is witnessing for the first time that one/one student is winning five/five gold medals, Governor added.
About infrastructure, he said that various projects were being implemented on priority basis as public representatives were trying their best to resolve the collective issues of the masses.
Earlier, the Governor Punjab also inaugurated the underpass project of Kashmir Bridge at Canal Road.
