ISLAMABAD, Aug 1 (APP): The National Assembly on Monday expressed deepest sorrow at passing away of a great Pakistani, Andul Sattar Edhi and paid rich tribute for his services to humanity.
The House passed a resolution unanimously moved by Minister for Climate Change Zahid Hamid on behalf of all parties paid glowing tribute to Abdul Sattar Edhi.
The resolution says, a legend in his own life time, Abdul Sattar Edhi was the epitome and selflessness, sacrifice and service to humanity. His honesty, simplicity and candor
endeared him to all those who knew him or who had head of him, at home and abroad.
He was a national hero, whose death has been mourned by hundreds of thousands.
Every segment of society has a sense of acute loss, especially the neglected, the helpless and marginalized, whom he regarded as his own. His legacy of selfless service to humanity will serve as a shining example to all Pakistanis of this and future generations. His memory symbolizes the universal truth that those who live for other live forever.
The House also called upon the government to take necessary measures for propagation of his message of philanthropy and service and issue of commemorative stamp
and coin to appreciate the achievements of this great worker and community leader.
