ISLAMABAD, Jan 14 (APP): Ahlan, a United Arab Emirates-based magazine, has enlisted Pakistan’s Ambassador at Large Javed Malik in the 100 Most Influential Asians in the UAE. The magazine documents the achievements of one hundred Asians including statesmen, business tycoons, economists, modern philosophers, artists, writers and sports personalities.

According to the magazine editorial, the list includes: “those people from the Subcontinent who have been trendsetters, revolutionaries and pioneers over the past few decades and who have continued to blaze a powerful trail from 2008 till 2009, in the fields of business, finance, state and economics” .

As per the magazine, Javed Malik was the only journalist to interview Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed in the last days of her life. He was also the first journalist to interview PML-N Chief Mian Nawaz Sharif after his exile.

“Javed Malik made history when he was appointed Pakistan’s Ambassador At Large, as he was the only overseas Pakistani to be so honoured. After practising law in London, Malik switched to the world of media. He also has his own businesses in the United Kingdom and Dubai”.

He joined a local television channel in London, before moving to the UAE as an entrepreneur and media personality, who was constantly working towards social change.

He eventually moved on to join a Television Network, where he produced and presented his flagship current affairs show, INSIGHT with Javed Malik.

After 9/11, Malik founded The World Forum to promote tolerance, understanding and peace among communities. The advisory board includes leading names from the British Parliament. In 2001, Javed started the Middle East chapter of The World Forum in the UAE.

Due to his contributions, Ahlan Magazine enlists Javed Malik into the region’s most influential persons in the UAE.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Minister for Information Sherry Rehman have also been enlisted in the region’s most important political personalities besides Sonia Gandhi and other leading personalities of the Subcontinent.
