Ahsan Iqbal stresses provision of quality education

SIALKOT, Jan 27 (APP): Federal Minister for Interior Prof Ahsan Iqbal has stressed the need for promotion of quality education to end ignorance and backwardness and putting the country on the road to progress.
He stated this while addressing the participants in a laptop distribution ceremony, held at the University of Gujrat (UoG), Narowal Campus, here Saturday.
The minister said that only education was the weapon to remove
darkness of backwardness, ignorance, terrorism, militancy, insurgency, saying that promotion of quality education could also help build up
personality and character of the students, who were future of the
nation.
Ahsan Iqbal announced that a university would be established in
Narowal soon. He called upon the students to focus on utilisation of
the advanced technologies to put Pakistan among the ranks of the
technologically advanced countries.
He said that provision of quality education was top priority of the government and the PML-N government was making sincere efforts for
ensuring easy access of everyone to quality education.
The minister said that the foreign media was also hailing Pakistan’s positive and effective economical policies, and declared the country’s economy as an emerging power. He said that the incumbent government had already put the country on the road to economic and political stability.
He said that national development and progress growth rate of Pakistan was increasing day by day, which was also moving ahead towards the higher growth rate in the country.
UoG Narowal sub-campus Director Dr Muhammad Ashfaq, MPAs Rana Khawaja Waseem Butt, Sardar Ramaish Singh Arora and Narowal Deputy Commissioner Ali Anaan Qamar, DPO Imran Kishwar were also present on the occasion.
Later on, Prof Ahsan Iqbal distributed 156 laptops among the top-scorers under the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme.
