After CPEC, copperation in medical field to further cement Pak-China ties: Mamnoon

KARACHI, Jan 9 (APP): President Mamnoon Hussain on Saturday said that after the initiation of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project, the cooperation in medical field would further cement the deep friendly ties between the two countries.
Such a collaboration would help open new avenues of development and enable us to serve the people in a better way, he said while speaking at the dinner of the Pak-China Medical Congress here.
President Mamnoon said that the cooperation in medical field would further increase in the years ahead and the two countries would also benefit from each other’s experiences.
The two countries would also further enhance collaboration in the practical field, he added.
He said owing to terrorism, lawlessness and wars, the number of people affected by psychological and other diseases had increased.
He said the economies of developing countries like Pakistan were also confronted with various problems, which was badly affecting the common man.
The President pointed out that in the recent years quite a number of Pakistani youngsters had headed for China to acquire medical education. However, owing to some technical reasons, “we can not benefit from their talent and abilities. There is a need to find
a practical solution to such a problem.”
He said treatment of many of the diseases was available in Pakistan for which the patients had to travel abroad in the past.In many of the far flung areas, there were lack of medical
facilities and the government was trying within its resources to overcome such a deficiency, he said, adding that all segments of the  society should also contribute their bit in that regard.
The President expressed the hope that the Pakistan Medical Association would also make headway in that respect.He said the results of operation Zarb-i-Azb were very positive and
by the end of the year the area would be made completely peaceful.
He said those responsible for militancy in Karachi and other cities would be curbed. The operation in Karachi would be taken to its logical conclusion as the . The very purpose of that operation was to fully restore peace in the metropolis.
He said the (power) loadshedding in the country would come to an almost end by the year 2018.
The President on the occasion also thanked the doctors and medical experts coming from China and SAARC countries.Mamnoon Hussain also congratulated the PMA for organizing the
Pak-ChinaMedCong.
Later, the President gave away shields to the members of theChines delegation at the moot.
Chairman of the organizing committee Prof Tipu Sultan, Prof Keqin Rao, Vice-President China Medical Association and Prof Muhammad Ibrahim Adhmi also spoke on the occasion.
