ISLAMABAD, Oct 28 (APP): Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique on Friday said Sheikh Rashid could gather only few people outside Lal Haveli and addressed the journalists from rooftop of a Digital Satellite News Gathering (DSNG) van.
Sheikh Rashid was not arrested as the government was not willing to do so, and law would take its course against violators of law and constitution, he said talking to a private TV.
The minister said in the past, the government did not carry out any crackdown against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers and supporters during its peaceful protests in various parts of the country.
He said PTI chief Imran Khan had threatened to lockdown the federal capital which would depict negative image of the country internationally.
He said peaceful protest was the right of every citizen in a democratic system. Minor action was conducted against violators of law during today’s protest in Rawalpindi.
Khawaja Saad said Sheikh Rashid could gather few people today in Rawalpindi and it was clear message that Imran Khan and Sheikh Rashid had no capacity to gather people for the November 2 sit-in.
He said Imran Khan was not placed under house arrest in Bani Gala.
