Federal Ombudsman suggests Skype facility in Pak Missions for early redressal of complaints

ISLAMABAD, Dec 11 (APP): Federal Ombudsman Office Sunday suggested Foreign Office to set up Skype facility for early resolution of public complaints in all 116 Pakistan’s Embassies and Missions abroad.
Grievance Commissioner for Overseas Pakistanis at Federal Ombudsman Pakistan, Hafiz Ahsaan Ahmad Khokhar has asked Foreign Office to issue instructions to all focal persons appointed in 116 Foreign Missions and to all Community Welfare Attaches to develop Skype addresses for hearing of complaints, their early resolution and to submit compliance report to Federal Ombudsman Secretariat by Monday (December 12).
He said the same instructions have also been issued to Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Overseas Pakistanis Foundation for all Community Welfare Attaches around the world posted in Pakistan’s embassies.
Hafiz Ahsaan said with use of modern technology, public complaints would be heard simultaneously in Pak embassies and Federal Ombudsman Office which resultantly would address grievances of overseas Pakistanis in shortest possible time.
He said through modern system Overseas Pakistanis would have access to directly interact with Federal Ombudsman Office, with government officials and at the same time it would improve coordination among government departments.
Ahsaan Khokhar said Skype meetings are now being regularly conducted with Pakistan community around the world and cognizance has been taken on their individual and systemic issues and notices are being issued to federal government departments for their resolutions.
He said a number of issues of Pak community living abroad have been redressed and added more than 80,000 individual and systemic nature of complaints of overseas Pakistanis have been redressed which is a matter of satisfaction.
He also appreciated efforts of government departments and Pakistan’s Missions.
He said new initiatives were being taken as per directions of Salman Farooqui, Federal Ombudsman Pakistan regarding resolution of public grievances.
He said it is not only increasing confidence of public but also enhancing efficiency and credibility of state institutions in and outside Pakistan.
