UNICEF launches largest-ever appeal to reach over 60 mln children worldwide -
UNITED NATIONS, Jan 30 (APP): The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) has launched its largest-ever appeal for 3.1 billion U.S. dollars to help  62 million at risk children affected by humanitarian crises worldwide.

ISAF troops kill seven innocent civilians in NWA: ISPR PDF Print E-mail

ISLAMABAD, Sep 3 (APP): A spokesman of the ISPR has said that ISAF troops landed two helicopters at a village near Angoor Adda in South Waziristan Agency in the wee hours on Wednesday and as per reports received so far, killed seven innocent civilians.

The spokesman strongly condemned this completely unprovoked act of killing and regretted the loss of precious lives. He blamed the coalition forces for this violent act and said, “such acts of aggression do not serve the common cause of fighting terrorism and militancy in the area.”

Spokesman said that a strong protest by Foreign Office has been lodged with the government of United States. Pakistan Army has also lodged a strong protest with Office of the Defence Representative in Pakistan (ODRP) and said that we reserve the right of self defence and retaliation to protect our citizens and soldiers against aggression.
