Air Chief urges students to explore new horizons of knowledge

MULTAN, Nov 19 (APP): Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman Saturday urged students to explore new horizons of knowledge and learning through wide reading and intellectual pursuits to contribute in the socio economic development of the country in a meaningful manner.
Addressing the first convocation ceremony of the Air University Multan Campus as a chief guest, the Air Chief stressed  the graduating students to become a useful and productive citizens of the country.
The Chief of the Air Staff, who is also Chairman Board of Governors of the Air University, said, “Your parents have rendered innumerable sacrifices for providing you quality education so always honour your parents through your exemplary conduct and hard work.”
Air Vice Marshal (Retd) Faaiz Amir, Vice Chancellor of the Air University, was also present at the occasion. The chief guest awarded medals and degrees amongst 290 successful graduates in the faculty of Management and Computer Sciences.
Highlighting the contributions of Pakistan Air Force towards nation building, the Air Chief said, “PAF has established various academic and vocational institutions across the country, especially in the under privileged areas.
“The establishment of Air University Campus in Multan in 2011 was a step in the same direction, and I am glad to share that the construction of the new campus site will soon be launched.”
He said, “Today our nation faces numerous challenges but the armed forces of Pakistan together with the support of the nation will overcome all these challenges.”
He said the Pakistan Air Force (PAF), in synergy with sister services, had played a key role in the success of Operation Zarb e Azb and would continue to come up to the expectations of the nation in future as well.
Earlier, Air Vice Marshal (Retd) Faaiz Amir, Vice Chancellor
of the Air University, in his welcome address thanked the PAF for their continual support towards the new campus of the university.
Air University Multan Campus (AUMC) was established in 2011 with a focus to provide the quality education to the masses of South Punjab.
Currently, over 750 students are enrolled at AUMC in different degree programmes at bachelor and master levels. AUMC has diverse faculty, enriched with great pedagogical experience including 50 percent PhD degree holders from reputed national and international varsities.
