ISLAMABAD, Mar 25 (APP):National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has processed digitization of 499,040 applications for Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme, launched to provide affordable housing facility to Pakistani citizens.
There was a shortfall of over 10 million houses in the country and every year the backlog is increasing.
The government, under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan intends to provide housing facility to people of the country and jump-start the housing sector, has launched the Scheme and NADRA was assigned the task of
digitizing of the forms.The authority has successfully completed first phase of pilot project.
A data issued by Interior Division on Monday highlighted achievements (August 18, 2018 to March 10, 2019) of NADRA about its operational projects and other services revealed that 36,875 applications of Arms Licenses for Ministry of Interior have also been processed, 96,028 applications were processed for Punjab Arms Licenses project and 12,102 applications processed (Ban imposed after December 31 till further order) for Sindh Arms License Project (Revalidation).
The other operational projects included Excise and Taxation, Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) for which 60,359 applications have been processed during the period, 73,101 applications of Executive Passport Office (EPO) processed while Temporary Displaced Persons Emergency Recovery Project (TDP-ERP) is continuing with processing of 333,118 Livelihood Support Grant (LSG) applications and processing of
368,480 Child Wellness Grant (CWG) applications so far.
The Authority, during the period mentioned above, also implemented some new contracts including Kenya Maintenance Contract worth US $ 741,000, Nigeria Maintenance Contract worth US $ 600,000 and Sudan Maintenance Contract for software enhancements, annual support and maintenance of Sudan Civil Registration System 2018-19.
The other Project was Development of Somalia National Identification System. The cost of the project
was US $ 10.3 million.
The authority also implemented Internet Voting for the first time in Pakistan for Overseas Pakistanis.
