US-based group condemns hate threat against Muslim students at top university

WASHINGTON, Nov 9 (APP): A US-based Muslim organization has condemned
a heinous hate threat targeting Muslim students in Virginia Tech
University, one of the top institutions in the United States.
All Dulles Area Muslim Society (ADAMS), a group which serves the local Muslim population in the state of Virginia, citing media reports said that Virginia Tech Police had received a report about graffiti left inside a bathroom stall which, according to their alert, read “I will be here 11/11/2015 to kill all Muslims (sic)”.
“Many of our ADAMS Community members have children who attend
Virginia Tech, and we are all deeply concerned for their safety and security. Our thoughts and prayers are with those Muslim Students,
and with all Students at V-Tech in this time,” said ADAMS President
Syed Moktadir.
He praised the Muslim students of Virginia Tech for responding to
these threats with expressions of peace, courage and harmony.
The President of the group also praised the local police force and
law enforcement agencies for investigating this and working to protect Muslim students there. “We thank people of all faiths who have reached
out to Muslim students to offer help,” he added.
Syed Moktadir said that perpetrators of these hate threats and
crimes deserve nothing but censures and must be brought to justice. He
urged the law enforcement agencies to investigate this as a hate crime
and work to ensure safety of all students at Virginia Tech or at any
other institute in the State.
“ADAMS continues to deplore the fear, misplaced hate rhetoric and vilification of all Muslims that can too easily lead to such hate threats and hate crimes,” the president said in a statement.
