ISLAMABAD, Nov 1 (APP): A seven-member Pakistan contingent is waiting for visas from the Canadian High Commission (CHC) to participate in the WTF World Taekwondo Junior Championship scheduled to be held at Burnaby, Canada in November.
Talking to APP, Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTF), President Waseem Ahmed, said the World Taekwondo Junior Championship will be held in Canada from November 16 to 20. “We had applied for the visas in time on October 18 and now as soon as we get the visas we will participate in the said championship,” he said.
He said the seven-member Pakistan contingent includes four athletes and three officials. “The athletes include Mahnoor Malik (-55kg), Nida (-51kg), Abdoon Butt (-46kg) and Zaheer Baig (-55kg) while the officials accompanying the players comprise Murtaza Hassan Bangish (manager) and Nazia Khan (coach),” he said.
He said he will also be going with the national contingent to participate in the General Assembly of the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) scheduled to be held in Canada on November 15,” he said.
