British HC urges Pakistani professionals to apply for 2017-18 Chevening Scholarships

ISLAMABAD, Aug 9 (APP): Acting British High Commissioner Patrick Moody on Tuesday urged the professionals from across Pakistan to apply for Chevening Scholarships for the year 2017-18, which have been opened on August 8.
Chevening Scholarships are awarded to individuals with demonstrable leadership potential who also have strong academic backgrounds, and offers full financial support to study for a master’s degree at any UK university.
The call for new applicants follows the selection of over 60 scholars from Pakistan, who won an award to study at a UK university this year (2016-17), a press release issued by the British High Commission here said.
The Acting British High Commissioner to Pakistan Patrick Moody said: “The UK is home to many of the world’s best universities, and studying there helps you develop academically, professionally, and personally. Studying in the UK on a Chevening scholarship, however, is even better.
“Not only is your Master’s degree fully funded, but the world-famous Scholarship means that you have been identified as the most promising of the next generation of opinion makers and leaders in Pakistan, and the world.
“I urge anyone thinking of applying to do so. It could be one of the best decisions of your life, as you discover the best of the UK from the best universities in the world.”
There are more than 1,500 Chevening Scholarships on offer globally for the 2017-18 academic cycle. These scholarships represent a significant investment from the UK Government to develop the next cohort of global leaders.
The High Commission has also provided the web address “www.chevening.org/faqs” for detailed information on the eligibility criteria and award specifications.
