KARACHI, Oct 09 (APP): Two more matches were decided in the PCB Talent Hunt Programme for School Cricket Championship (Karachi Region), with standout performances from Aliyan Asif and Muhammad Hassan stealing the spotlight.
At Darul Uloom Korangi Ground, Grace Academy School recorded a commanding 196-run victory over Darul Uloom Korangi. Batting first, Grace Academy scored 260 in 39.4 overs. Muhammad Khan struck 47 runs with four fours and two sixes, while Muhammad Waheed (41), Masood Ali (31), Arshman Riaz (26), Asad Ullah (21), and Muhammad Hassan (21) also contributed. For Darul Uloom, Aabish took 3 for 38, while Owais Sohail, Abdullah Dawood, and Yousuf Masood grabbed two wickets each.
In reply, Darul Uloom were bowled out for just 64 runs in 20 overs. Muhammad Yousuf top-scored with 16. Right-arm leg-spinner Muhammad Hassan was sensational, claiming 5 wickets for only 14 runs, while Muhammad Khan picked up 3 for 10. Hassan was named Man of the Match for his match-winning spell.
At the IBA Ground, Government Boys Secondary School Model Haqani outclassed Army Public School by 193 runs. Batting first, Model Haqani piled up 321 for 6 in 40 overs. Aliyan Asif led the charge with a brilliant 104 featuring 10 fours and 5 sixes, while Muhammad Anas blasted 89 with 10 fours and 7 sixes. Abdullah Ehsan (41) and Azaan Masroor (21) added valuable runs. For APS, Ch. M. Rafay took 3 for 40, and M. Basim Khurram claimed 2 for 79.
In response, Army Public School were dismissed for 128 in 27.5 overs. Ch. M. Rafay fought back with 40 runs and Hasnain Azam added 35. Faisal Akhtar (4/30), Aliyan Asif (2/11), and Muhammad Rujab (2/35) shared the bowling honors. Aliyan Asif was named Man of the Match for his outstanding all-round performance.
