PSCA installs 950 cameras for PSL security in Lahore

The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has finalised comprehensive security arrangements, installing over 950 modern cameras to ensure a safe and secure environment during Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11 matches in the provincial capital.

LAHORE, Mar 26 (APP):The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has finalised comprehensive security arrangements, installing over 950 modern cameras to ensure a safe and secure environment during Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11 matches in the provincial capital.
According to a spokesperson of PSCA, a joint security strategy has been implemented in coordination with Lahore Police to secure Gaddafi Stadium, Allama Iqbal International Airport, team hotels and match routes.
He said that more than 950 surveillance cameras were actively monitoring the city, while the system had been further strengthened with facial recognition technology, artificial intelligence-based analytics and other advanced tools. A state-of-the-art digital wall at the Safe City Control Room was ensuring round-the-clock monitoring of the stadium and its adjoining areas.
The spokesperson added that Safe City drones were also being utilised for aerial surveillance of the stadium, team routes, hotels and airport vicinity.
He further said that the use of facial recognition cameras and modern LTE handsets had enhanced the operational efficiency of field forces, while virtual patrolling officers and technical teams were performing duties round the clock at the Safe City Headquarters.
The spokesperson said foolproof security arrangements had been ensured in line with international standards through effective use of modern technology and strong coordination, providing a secure environment for citizens and cricket fans.
He also highlighted that Safe City FM 88.6 was providing timely updates regarding traffic routes, alternate pathways and parking arrangements.
Citizens have been advised to dial Emergency Helpline 15 in case of any emergency to ensure prompt response.
