Earth hour observed by IUB

Continuing its academic tradition of environmental protection and sustainability, Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) celebrated Earth Hour 2026.

BAHAWALPUR, Mar 28 (APP): Continuing its academic tradition of environmental protection and sustainability, Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) celebrated Earth Hour 2026.
According to an official press release issued by the IUB here, in harmony with this year’s international theme, non-essential lights were switched off from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM at Abbasia Baghdad Al-Jadeed, Khawaja Farid Bahawalnagar and Rahim Yar Khan campuses of the IUB to dedicate one hour to the Earth.
Vice Chancellor IUB Prof Dr Muhammad Kamran encouraged the university community to dedicate this hour to positive environmental action. “Under the “Give an Hour for Earth” campaign, faculty and students were urged to consider the environmental impact around them and adopt eco-friendly sustainable changes in their lifestyle,” it said, adding that by participating in this global movement led by the government , Islamia University of Bahawalpur had been contributing to a green and sustainable future for Pakistan by becoming a front line driver for climate change.
