Imran's politics revolves around mud-slinging: Pervaiz

KHARIAN Dec 5, (APP): Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid Saturday said the politics of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan revolved around mud-slinging of others as he had no manifesto or agenda to pursue.
Talking to the media after attending an event in connection with the World Disability Day here, he said the people had voted the Pakistan Muslim-League-Nawaz (PML-N) in the recent by-elections. They had acknowledged the efforts of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif
for transforming Pakistan into a powerful and prosperous country.
The people, he said, had rejected Imran Khan’s candidates in the local government (LG) elections for his habit of telling lies. He said the PTI chief was claiming to plant 100 million trees in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and he should prove his claim and show to the media
where the same were planted. Imran should not issue such illogical
statements, he added.
He said Imran could not prove his claim as planting of 100 million
trees would require a huge workforce, besides spalings, which seemed
to be impossible. Some 200 to 400 trees might have been planted at
Bani Gala but what to speak of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where the number of
bushes would not even be 100 million, he added.
Imran Khan, he alleged, was a “champion of liars” and he would stand
first in case of a liars’ contest were held.
He said Imran Khan did not dare to enter MQM dominated areas
during his recent visit to Karachi.
The minister said it was a heinous crime to keep the children
deprived of education. There was need to focus on imparting education
to children, especially the special kids, and the PML-N government
was doing its utmost in that regard.
The government, he said, had also completed unmatched
projects in two and a half years. The menaces of power loadshedding and terrorism would have been overcome by the year 2018.
He said Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had put the
country on the road to progress and prosperity despite the ‘politics of
sit-ins’. That was why the people continued to vote for the PML-N
candidates in elections by rejecting the PTI people.
Responding to a question, he said a comprehensive plan had
already been devised to provide stringent security to media houses
and the provincial governments had also been asked to take steps
in that regard.
He said that Pakistan was going to become the hub of regional
development as China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was set to
connect 2 billion people through a network of motorways, railways,
airports and sea ports right from Gwadar and Karachi to Torkhum and
Khunjrab border points.
He said the project would not only benefit Pakistan but also the
entire South Asia, Central Asia and China. The trade among over 2 billion
people would make Pakistan prosperous.
Two and a half years ago, he said, the international media had
predicted that the country was to become bankrupt, but now they were
acknowledging the government’s prudent economic policies putting
Pakistan on the path to progress.
The minister said Imran Khan was responsible for impeding
the country’s progress and prosperity by holding so-called six-month
long sit-in, which had also led to the postponement of visit of Chinese President.
