ECP gives green signal for major reshuffle in KP’s bureaucracy

ISLAMABAD, Jun 21 (APP):Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Thursday has given green signal for transfer and posting of various high ranking officials in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province to ensure the holding of General Election-2018 in transparent,free and fair manners across the country.
These posting and transfers have been carried out ahead of next month’s election in an attempt to eliminate the chances of these officials exerting any influence in favour of or against any candidate or party.
The country’s election watchdog and caretaker setup have completed the massive task of reshuffling in provincial bureaucracy in response to the objections raised by some political parties leaders.
According to ECP official, the commission has accorded approval for transfer and posting of 20 Secretaries/Chairmen, 38 Deputy Commissioners/Assistant Commissioners/Directors , 22 Additional Deputy Commissioners/Deputy Secretaries/Deputy Directors, 63 Section Officers/Assistant Commissioners/Additional Assistant Commissioners, five Regional Police Officers and 29 District Superintendent Police/Superintendent Police.
Among the Secretaries and Chairmen, Senior Member Board of Revenue, KP Zafar Iqbal, Secretary Energy and Power Department Muhammad salim,Secretary Public Health department Nizam ud din, Secretary Administration Department Arshad Majeed, Commissioner Hazara Division, Abbottabad Muhammad Akbar, Secretary Agriculture Muhammad Israr, Secretary Excise & taxation KP Muhammad javed Marwat, Commissioner Dera Ismail Khan Abdul Ghafoor Baig, Secretary Labour Department Khayyam hassan Khan, Commissioner Mardan Zakir Hussain Afridi, Secretary Environment Department Syed Nazar Hussain Shah, Chairman Textbook KP Masood Ahmad, Secretary population Welfare Department Syed Zafar Ali Shah, Secretary Law Department Asghar Ali, Commissioner Bannu Syed Abdul Jabbar shah, Secretary ST&IT Department Dawood Khan, Secretary Information & Public Relation Department Qaiser Alam were likely to be posted as Secretary Administration, Secretary Irrigation Department, Secretary Labour Department, Secretary Establishment Department, Secretary Agriculture Department, Secretary Excise and taxation, Commissioner Dera Ismail Khan, Commissioner Bannu, Report to Establishment Department, Secretary Environment Department, Managing Director TEVTA with additional charge of Principal Adviser to Chief Minister on Technical Education and Aviation, Secretary Public Health Engineering Department with additional charge of Secretary Information & Public Relation Department, Secretary Energy and Power Department, Secretary population Welfare Department, Commissioner Mardan, Chairman Textbook KP and Secretary ST&IT Department respectively.
However, the posting awaiting secretaries and chairmen in different department including Dr Muhammad Fakher-e- Alam Irfan, Amjad Ali Khan, Zakaullah Khattak were likely to be transferred Senior Member Board of Revenue, KP, Commissioner Hazara Division and Secretary Law Department, respectively.
With this approval from the commission, the process of transfers and postings of major officials in all four provinces has finally come to the end with an objective to address the grievances of leaders of different political parties.
