Attaullah Tarar visits family of dog-bite victim in Township, announces relief

LAHORE, Mar 23 (APP):Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar on Monday visited the residence of the bereaved family in Township following the death of an eight-year-old girl, Mehar Qaiser, who died after being bitten by a stray dog the previous day, and announced financial assistance along with administrative measures to address the issue.
During the visit, the minister, accompanied by senior politician Sajida Farooq Tarar, met the father of the deceased child, Qaiser Siddique Masih, and expressed deep condolences, offering sympathy and solidarity with the grieving family. He prayed for patience for the bereaved household and said the government shared their grief in this difficult time.
On the occasion, Attaullah Tarar announced financial assistance of Rs500,000 for the affected family and also issued instructions for employment for the father of the deceased girl as part of relief measures.
He further constituted a two-member committee comprising Rafaqat Dogar and Mari Gul to review the situation related to stray dogs and the legal matters concerning court-ordered stay. The committee will present the case before the relevant court and also request the removal of the stay to facilitate preventive measures and prevent such incidents in the future.
The minister, expressing sorrow over the incident, said his heart was deeply saddened by the tragedy and assured the family of full support. He added that all possible steps would be taken to prevent such incidents in the future and to address public safety concerns related to stray animals.
