Illegal encroachment cleared, land restored to UET professor

SARGODHA, Dec 13 (APP): Under directives from Punjab Chief Minister(CM) Maryam Nawaz Sharif,Sargodha district administration on Saturday taken swift action to safeguard citizens’ land rights under the Punjab Protection of Ownership Act 2025.
According to a spokesperson, the District Dispute Resolution Committee (DDRC) acted on a complaint by Professor Dr. Muhammad Zafar Noon, former Dean and Head of New Campus at UET Lahore, removing illegal encroachment from his agricultural land in Tehsil Shahpur.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Capt (R) Muhammad Waseem ensured an immediate response,with Assistant Commissioner (AC) Shahpur Dr.Abid Mumtaz and Tehsildar Shahpur Sadar Ali Hassan, backed by the PERA Force, executing the operation.The land was successfully restored to its rightful owner.
Professor Dr. Zafar Noon thanked Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz Sharif,praising the legal protections provided under the Punjab Protection of Ownership Act 2025.
The DC emphasized that all applications under the Act were being addressed on a priority basis to protect citizens’ proprietary rights.
