SARGODHA, Feb 11 (APP): Deputy Commissioner Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhry on Wednesday visited the Sargodha Waste Management Company (SWMC) control room and directed officials to ensure strict implementation of the Punjab government’s “Suthra Punjab” initiative under a zero-tolerance policy.
According to the spokesperson for DC office here, during the visit, the DC reviewed the monitoring system installed at the control room and received a detailed briefing on track-and-trace vehicles, field operations, and ongoing cleanliness activities across the district.
He emphasized that no compromise would be made on sanitation standards in line with Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision for a cleaner province.
He stated that surprise monitoring of cleanliness operations was underway throughout the district and warned that negligence at any level would not be tolerated.
Later, a meeting was held at the control room chaired by the Deputy Commissioner. CEO SWMC Rana Muhammad Abu Bakar, the Chief Officer District Council, Deputy Director Local Government, and other relevant officials attended the session.
The meeting reviewed the current sanitation system, performance of operational vehicles, and responsibilities of contractors in detail.
The DC directed officers to closely monitor contractors’ performance, issue immediate notices in cases of poor performance, and initiate strict legal action if improvements were not observed.
