95 food outlets inspected in Gujrat

GUJRAT, Nov 17 (APP): Following the directives of Deputy Director Muhammad Rizwan Saeed, inspection teams from the Punjab Food Authority conducted 95 inspections across the district to ensure compliance with food quality, hygiene standards, and regulations.
According to a spokesperson, 33 food outlets were issued improvement notices after minor irregularities were identified. Additionally, fines totaling Rs138,000 were imposed on 10 food units for violating food safety rules.
During the operation, the teams also addressed two public complaints and collected nine food samples for laboratory testing. More than two kilograms of expired food were discarded on the spot as part of the efforts to protect public health.
