ISLAMABAD, Jan 27 (APP):Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police have arrested 11 lawbreakers and recovered weapons during ongoing operations against criminal elements in the federal capital.
A police spokesperson told APP on Tuesday that police teams from Secretariat, Industrial Area, Aabpara and Kohsar police stations arrested four accused involved in various criminal activities.
He said three pistols along with ammunition and a dagger were recovered from the possession of the arrested accused. Cases have been registered against them and further investigation is under way.
The spokesperson added that, in a separate special campaign launched for the arrest of proclaimed offenders and absconders, various police teams apprehended seven more criminals.
Following the special directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, Islamabad Police are continuing an effective crackdown against crime and criminal elements to ensure peace and tranquility in the federal capital.
He said ICT Police remain committed to protecting the lives and property of citizens and will not allow any element to disturb public peace.
Citizens were urged to cooperate with the police and immediately report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station or through the emergency helpline “Pucar-15,” so that crime can be eliminated through joint efforts of the police and the public.
