ISLAMABAD, Jan 31 (APP):National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage (Lok Virsa) on Wednesday launched the
seven Digital Video Discs (DVDs) of its popular folk musical programmes.
The launching ceremony was attended by Executive Director Lok Virsa Dr. Fouzia Saeed, Secretary National Press Club Islamabad Shakeel Anjum and a large number of people from different
walks of life.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Fouzia Saeed said that Lok Virsa was one of the largest
publishers of the traditional music and culture, adding that it also edited, complied and produced a set
of 36 cultural documentaries and over 500 audio cassette labels of nation’s cultural heritage.
Secretary National Press Club (NPC) Shakil Anjum said that Lok Virsa was doing its best to
create a sense of realization among our new generation about the importance of their diverse cultural identity.
He appreciated the efforts of Lok Virsa for promoting and projecting the folk culture of Pakistan.
Later, Azhar Hussain Jaffery and group presented popular songs and got big applause from the audience.
