ISLAMABAD, Dec 11 (APP): Artisans’ Lounge on Friday arranged a Shawl Mela to celebrate the warmth of winter here at Centaurus Mall.
The huge variety of Pashmina Shawl, Kashmiri Shawl, Shahtoosh Shawl,Shahmina Shawl, Balochi Shawl, Embroidered Shawl, Gents Shawl, Stole, Scraf,Hijab and accessories and Crochet collection were displayed for the shoppers.
Women home-based workers from all over the country displayed their traditional skills at an exhibition held by Mogh Limited in collaboration with Aurat Foundation’s Gender Equity Programme (GEP) which is supported by United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
The shwal mela at the artisans’ lounge drew a large number of visitors who appreciated the beautifully crafted products specially varities of shwals. The items displayed at Artisans’ Lounge included shwals, kurtas, hand bags, key chains, shoes, cushions, dolls and rugs. The products represented the culture of different regions of Pakistan.
Visitors showed great interest in the shwals and other crafted items. They appreciated the craft of women workers whose skills were showcased from all over Pakistan in the country’s capital.
