Rain likely on Independence Day

ISLAMABAD, Aug 13 (APP): Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain-wind/thunderstorm with few heavy falls in Kashmir, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Northeast Punjab, Potohar Region, Islamabad on Independence Day.

Rain-wind thundershower is likely at isolated places in south Punjab, northeast/south Balochistan and southeast Sindh.
Light rain is expected at isolated places in coastal areas of Sindh.

As per the synoptic situation, monsoon currents from Arabian Sea were penetrating upper/central parts of the country.

A westerly wave was prevailing over upper parts of the country.

During the last 24 hours, mainly hot and humid weather is prevailed most parts of the country. However, rain-wind/thundershower occurred in south Punjab while, light rain at isolated places in coastal areas of Sindh.

The rainfall recorded was Punjab: Multan (Airport 12mm, City 03), Bahawalpur City 02, Sindh: Karachi 01mm.

The highest maximum temperatures recorded were Nokkundi 46C, Dalbandin 45 and Chilas 44C.
