Wrestling squad off to Turkey for Rio qualifiers

ISLAMABAD, May 6 (APP): A five-member Pakistan wrestling team along with two officials flew for Istanbul, Turkey on Friday to feature in the three-day (May 6-8) world qualifying round for this summer’s Rio Olympics.

Pakistan outfit is comprised of Mohammad Bilal (57kg), Qamar Abbas (65kg), Asad Butt (74kg) Mohammad Inam (86kg) and Zaman Anwar (125kg). While Sohail Rashid and Abdul Mobin are accompanying the team as coach and manager, respectively.

“This is the last opportunity for our boys to get Rio tickets as these rounds are the only remaining qualifiers,” Secretary Pakistan Wrestling Federation (PWF) Arshad Sattar told APP.
