Naqvi vows to make ACC potent regional cricketing body

LAHORE, Jul 24 (APP):President Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Mohsin Naqvi has expressed the resolve to utilise all-out resources to turn Asian Cricket Council (ACC) into the most potent cricket body with the cooperation of the member nations.
Underlining his plans for the expansion of the sport at a reception given to the members on the occasion of Annual General Meeting of the ACC in Dhaka, he said there was need to introduce the beautiful game of cricket in the countries of the region where it was not played.
He also expressed his resolve to strengthen associate member teams through enhanced support. “I am fully confident that together, we can achieve this. We must strengthen one another,” the ACC president added.
The ACC president urged the member nations to put aside political differences and work for the welfare of cricket, adding that all member nations must work as team for the collective good of cricket in the region as well as the globe. “As President ACC, I assure you that we will do whatever is necessary to make the ACC the most powerful regional cricketing body,” adding that the goal cannot be achieved alone.
Congratulating Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on the first-ever ACC General Meeting in Bangladesh, he thanked BCB Chairman Aminul Islam for the excellent arrangements and warm hospitality. He also felicitated BCB Chairman on Bangladesh Men’s T20I series-win against Pakistan.
On the occasion, President ACC) Naqvi also expressed his deep sorrow and condolences over the tragic air crash in Bangladesh that claimed 31 lives. “Our heartfelt sympathies go out to the families of the victims as well as to the government and people of Bangladesh. Our thoughts and prayers are with the affected families,” Mohsin Naqvi added.
