The fourth edition of the Ramazan Hockey League commenced at the Olympian Islahuddin and Dr. Muhammad Ali Shah Hockey Academy in Karachi, with former Olympian Qamar Ibrahim inaugurating the event.
Fourth Ramazan Hockey League begins in Karachi
KARACHI, Mar 06 (APP):The fourth edition of the Ramazan Hockey League commenced at the Olympian Islahuddin and Dr. Muhammad Ali Shah Hockey Academy in Karachi, with former Olympian Qamar Ibrahim inaugurating the event.
Several former hockey players and sports personalities attended the opening ceremony, including Kamran Ashraf, Kashif Jawad and Syed Sameer Hussain. Former international player Abuzar Amrao and other officials and guests were also present.
In the opening match, Olympian Abdul Waheed Khan XI defeated Olympian Anwar Ahmed Khan XI by 4–2.
For the winning side, Babar Saadat, Usman Ashraf, Nauman Khan and Arif Khan scored one goal each. Usman Khan and Wajid Khan netted the goals for Anwar Ahmed Khan XI.
A total of five teams are taking part in the tournament, including Olympian Anwar Ahmed Khan XI, Olympian Abdul Waheed Khan XI, Olympian Munawar-uz-Zaman XI, Olympian Zafar Ali Khan XI and Zakir Ali Khan XI.
According to the organisers, one match will be played daily during the Ramazan Hockey League
