FAISALABAD, Nov 08 (APP): South African opening batsman Quinton de Kock has become the second fastest player in the world to score 7,000 runs in One Day International (ODI) cricket by achieving milestone during the third and final ODI of the Pakistan–South Africa series held in Faisalabad.
De Kock reached this remarkable feat while scoring a composed 53 runs in the match, bringing his total to over 7,000 ODI runs in just 157 matches and 157 innings which is a testament to his consistency and brilliance at the top of the order.
His record places him only behind fellow South African Hashim Amla, who had reached the same milestone in 153 matches and 150 innings, maintaining South Africa’s dominance in producing world-class batting talent.
The left-handed wicketkeeper-batsman, known for his explosive starts and elegant stroke play, has so far amassed 22 centuries and 33 half-centuries in his ODI career.
His highest individual score stands at an impressive 178 runs, reflecting his ability to anchor and accelerate innings across formats.
