LAHORE, Dec 15 (APP): Army set a showdown with Wapda in the final of the inaugural National Women Kabaddi Championship after beating their respective rivals at Wapda Sports Complex, on Thursday.
Army gave Kabaddi lesson to Islamabad with a 100 7 points thrashing
while Wapda routed Punjab 75 25. The final will be played tomorrow (Friday).
Army enjoyed all time supremacy in a one sided affair against Islamabad
and kept their opponents under persistent pressure with attacking game and aggressive approach. The super fit army girls anticipated prowess and agility with powerful grips.
Wapda proved too good for Punjab and outplayed them in all departments
of the game. Punjab offered slight resistance in opening stages of the play and gained points to narrow lead but eventually their players ran out of stamina and energy and lost the match.
Punjab got some consolation when it claimed the third place defeating
Islamabad 52 19 in a classification match.
President, Wapda Sports Board, Amer Ahmad will be the chief guest at the final.
