KARACHI, Mar 28 (APP): Governor Sindh Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi has approved the Sindh Fisheries (Amendment) Bill 2026.
Amendments have been made to improve the fishing system and to protect marine life.
Under the Sindh Fisheries (Amendment) Bill 2026, fines for violations have been increased.
Strict action will be taken against those engaged in fishing without a license.
Heavy penalties will be imposed for the use of prohibited nets and illegal fishing.
A fine of up to Rs. 100,000 has been set for violations of fishing laws.
A fine of Rs. 50,000 will be imposed for operating a processing plant or factory without a license.
Action will be taken against those, involved in the illegal buying, selling, and trade of fish.
Penalties have also been set for environmental pollution and for discharging factory waste into water.
