Addressing the ceremony, the Mayor Karachi said that the reconstruction and rehabilitation of Sehba Akhtar Road is an important project under which not only the road would be rebuilt but the sewerage system would also be improved. The road would be approximately 1.8 kilometers long with a width ranging from 44 to 46 feet.
He stated that the road was originally constructed 22 years ago and was used daily by thousands of commuters. He also announced the reconstruction of the corridor from Shahrah-e-Shah Suleman Road to Hassan Square and Gulshan Chowrangi, stating that sewerage lines along this corridor would also be replaced to provide long-term relief to residents.
He said that he was personally visiting different areas daily to review progress and would soon tour District West, Malir, Keamari, and Korangi, where development work is also underway.
