22nd death anniversary of Sultan Rahi observed

LAHORE, Jan 09 (APP):The 22nd death anniversary of legendary
film star, Sultan Rahi, was observed at his residence in Lahore
on Thusday.
His son, Haider Sultan, arranged the Quran Khawani for the
departed soul.
Sultan Rahi was shot dead by unknown persons 22 years ago in
Gujranwala while he was coming to Lahore from Islamabad.
During his life time, he performed in hundreds of films mostly
Punjabi films. His name was regarded as a gurranantee of success
of a Punjabi film.
An old friend of the late Sultan Rahi and Punjabi story
writer, Ghulam Abbas alias Jhandi Khan, told APP that the era of
Punjabi films ended after the murder of Sultan Rahi.
Haider Sultan said on the occasion that the real killers of his
father were still not traced.
