Vaccination drive to be carried out in 120 union councils

A campaign will be carried out across 120 Union Councils in Bahawalpur district,where 3,276 mobile teams,195 fixed teams and 136 transit teams will perform their duties to administer anti-polio drops to children.

BAHAWALPUR, Mar 21 (APP): A campaign will be carried out across 120 Union Councils in Bahawalpur district,where 3,276 mobile teams, 195 fixed teams and 136 transit teams will perform their duties to administer anti-polio drops to children.
This was said in an official press release issued by the district management here.
It said that in addition, 122 union council monitoring officers and 667 area in-charges would supervise the campaign.
“The second national anti-polio campaign will begin on April 13 and continue until April 16,”the press release explained, adding that during the first three days of the campaign,teams would go door-to-door to administer polio drops to children up to five years of age,while the final day would be observed as a “catch-up day,” during which children who were missed will be covered,” it said.
It further said that during this campaign,a target had been set to vaccinate 813,255 children across the district. Furthermore, Vitamin A capsules will also be provided to children to help improve their overall health.
All relevant institutions will continue joint efforts to make Bahawalpur district polio-free.
