RAWALPINDI, Mar 30 (APP):The City Traffic Police remained on the roads on Monday to ensure smooth vehicular flow as rain continued intermittently in Rawalpindi since late Sunday night.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi Farhan Aslam said traffic wardens were actively managing traffic on major roads during the rain to facilitate commuters and prevent congestion.

He advised motorists to drive with caution in the wet conditions, urging them to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle ahead and keep speeds low to avoid skidding.

The CTO said motorcyclists should use the extreme left lane, urging drivers to exercise extra care for bikers and pedestrians during rainfall.

He further advised motorists to use fog lights, indicators and side-view mirrors during heavy rain to ensure visibility and safe driving.

Farhan Aslam urged citizens to demonstrate patience and responsibility while driving in the rain, adding that traffic staff had been directed to provide maximum assistance to road users.

He said traffic wardens were present on roads at all times to ensure smooth flow of traffic and facilitate citizens during the ongoing rain spell.
