Government College Women University Sialkot (GCWUS) on Friday hosted a delegation from the Technology & Innovation Summit (TIS) of the Surgical Instruments Manufacturers Association of Pakistan to explore avenues of collaboration between academia and industry.
SIMAP delegation visits GCWUS

SIALKOT, Mar 27 (APP): Government College Women University Sialkot (GCWUS) on Friday hosted a delegation from the Technology & Innovation Summit (TIS) of the Surgical Instruments Manufacturers Association of Pakistan to explore avenues of collaboration between academia and industry.
The delegation, led by Salman Awan, included Naeem Afzal and Sabour Ahmed and visited the university under the supervision of SIMAP Senior Vice Chairman Suleman Ali Mughal.
During the visit, the delegation held a meeting with Vice Chancellor (VC) Dr. Shazia Bashir, along with senior faculty and administrative officials.
The discussion focused on strengthening academia industry linkages with particular emphasis on internships, industry exposure and collaborative initiatives for students.
A formal invitation was extended to GCWUS to participate in the Technology & Innovation Summit 2026, scheduled to be held on April 22,2026.
The university administration expressed hope that such engagements would help bridge the gap between theoretical learning and practical application, enabling students to gain market-relevant skills.
