Serving patients on Eid real essence of happiness: Dr. Farooq Afzal

LAHORE, Mar 22 (APP):Ameer-ud-Din Medical College and Lahore General Hospital (LGH) Principal Prof. Dr. Farooq Afzal has said that health professionals engaged in serving humanity on the joyous occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr are truly a valuable asset of the nation and a shining face of humanity.
In a statement on Sunday, he said that bringing smiles to the faces of patients suffering from illness and pain is the real essence of Eid, and there can be no greater joy than this.
Prof Dr Farooq Afzal said that the true message of Eid is sacrifice, compassion and public service, adding that real happiness lies in standing with those in distress. Paying tribute to healthcare professionals who continue to perform their duties even during Eid holidays, he said that this spirit is the true strength of society.
Meanwhile, LGH Medical Superintendent Dr Faryad Hussain also visited various wards of the hospital on Eid day, inquired about the well-being of patients and greeted them with Eid wishes. He also cut an Eid cake along with doctors, nurses and paramedical staff on duty.
