The Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) Murree has enforced emergency measures for the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays in view of an expected surge in tourists and adverse weather conditions.

RAWALPINDI, Mar 19 (APP):The Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) Murree has enforced emergency measures for the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays in view of an expected surge in tourists and adverse weather conditions.
According to a Rescue 1122 spokesman, the arrangements have been made on the directions of Director General, Punjab Emergency Service, Dr Rizwan Naseer, and Deputy Commissioner Murree, Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi.
A comprehensive emergency medical cover plan has been devised under the supervision of District Emergency Officer (DEO) Engineer Kamran Rashid to ensure timely and effective response to any untoward incident.
The spokesman said emergency resources had been pre-positioned at key highways, vulnerable nullahs, rainwater channels and tourist spots.
Dedicated response points had also been established at various locations to ensure swift and coordinated action in emergencies.
“All Rescue 1122 teams are on high alert, with personnel placed on round-the-clock duty,” he said, adding that the control room was fully operational and continuous monitoring was under way through a modern system.
The spokesman warned that prevailing weather conditions could trigger flash flooding in nullahs, landslides, lightning and hailstorms, posing risks to visitors.
To deal with such situations, he said ambulances, fire vehicles and motorbike rescue services had been mobilised.
He urged the public to avoid visiting water channels and fast-flowing streams, exercise caution while driving in hilly areas and strictly follow traffic rules. In case of any emergency, citizens should immediately contact Rescue 1122 or the district administration.
